Welcome to «Kharkov»

Kharkov is the city with the population of 1.517 mln. people, the capital of Ukraine in 1917—1934, the second largest city in Ukraine; it's history is more than 340 years old.

Today Kharkov is one of the largest student's and industrial centers in Ukraine with it's giant factories, well known in the world. Unique image of Khakrov is made by numerous architectural monuments: the cathedrals of 17—19 centuries, industrial complexes, architectural ensembles of Sumskaya street, Gagarin and Lenin avenues, Gorky park, Shevchenko garden as well as Svoboda square &mdash one of the biggest square in the world. The complex of high-rise buildings, the first high rise in the USSR — Gosprom, Kharkov National University, Military University, were built in this square in 30^th years of 20 century.

The «Kharkov» Hotel was built by an architect G.A.Yanovitsky in 1936. The buildings is a chef-d'oevre of architecture. In 1937 it's project won Grand Prix at the World Exhibition in Paris. Today it continues to be a decoration of our city.
